A boxing academy on the patter of Australian Institute of Sports would be soon established in Bhiwani. It would be equipped with state-of-the-art facilities.
Bhiwani Deputy Commissioner T.L. Satyaparkash said that Indian players had given their best ever performance in the Beijing Olympics and the victory of promising boxer of Bhiwani Vijender Singh had made everyIndian proud.
He said that efforts were being made to get sports projects to the tune of Rs.30 crore sanctioned and implemented for Bhiwani. Building for the centre of Sports Authority of India would be constructed soon in Bhiwani, besides constructing a gymnasium hall at a cost of Rs.83 lakh.

The District Administration had forwarded recently a plan to the State Government for setting up a boxing centre in Bhiwani, but Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda had announced setting up a of Boxing Academy to mark the historic victory of Vijender Singh in the Beijing Olympics, said Satyaparkash, adding that a therapic centre and a nutrition centre, besides a practice hall would also be set up in the academy.
A therapic centre was necessary in view of the fact that boxers often get bruises while practising and nutrition centre would take care of there diet. The academy would be completed in one year, he said.
Satyaparkash said that the district administration would recommend village Kaluwas, the native village of .Vijender Singh and village Devsar, the native village of Jitender to be made as model villages.
He said, "Vijender is our hero and .Akhil and Jitender are our rising stars." He hoped that many more players of Bhiwani would bring fame to the state as well as nation in the next Olympic Games.
