Overnight joint leader Abhishek Jha rallied to submit a card of 5-over 77 that put him into a joint-lead with the fast improving Aditya Bhandarkar from Pune in the second round of the LG Tamil Nadu Open Amateur Open being played at the Coimbatore Golf Club here on Wednesday. Aditya matched his first rounds score of 2-over 74 for a two-day total of 4-over 148 to be in contention for his maiden title on the LG Indian Amateur Tour.
Gagan Verma added a 77 to his overnight 72 to be in sole third position, just one shot off the leaders. Favourite Rashid Khan with a total of 150 shared the fourth place with Samresh Sardar. Imamum Haque and Pawan Kumar shared the sixth spot at 152 while HS Kang of Chandigarh and Jasjeet Singh were tied for the eight place at 153. Arshdeep Tiwana, winner of the LG Southern India Open last week shot the best round of the day when he carded a 1-under par 71. However with his opening round of 84, he was tied for the 12th place. The cut was applied at 31-over 175 and exactly 40 players made the cut.
