Hard-fought win for 37 Cricket Academy

CHANDIGARH, June 21
37 Sector Cricket Academy registered a hard-fought two-wicket victory over Desh Prem Azad Cricket Academy with one ball to spare in the Inter-Academy Cricket Tournament for Under-15 for Ind-Swift Trophy being organized by Desh Prem Azad Cricket Academy at the St Stephen’s School ground in Sector 45 here today.
At the MCM DAV College ground in Sector 36, MCM Blue Caps outplayed DAV Senior Secondary School Academy, Sector 8 by 91 runs.
DP Azad Academy won the toss and elected to bat. They piled up an impressive total of 240 for 8 in allotted 40 overs. Talented Shivam Sharma batted with grit and determination to play an authoritative innings of 73 runs. Lovejit Singh and Jagpreet contributed 43 and 40 runs, respectively.
For 37 Cricket Academy, Honey Rana (3 for 14) and Kulbhushan (2 for 20) were the main wicket-takers.
37 Cricket Academy achieved their target by scoring 242 for 8 in 39.5 overs. In-form Saiyyam Sarin continued to excel with the bat. He topscored with 58 runs. Shyam Kumar (42) and Arun Kumar (31) also made useful contributions. Talwinder Singh Senior was the most successful bowler for Azad Academy as he claimed four wickets for 37 runs.
At the MCM DAV College ground, MCM Blue Caps batted first and scored 260 for 5 in stipulated 40 overs. Angad Khera dominated the batting by playing a well-compiled knock of 83 runs. Aarsh (52), Harpreet (30) and Vikram (33) also helped Blue Caps to swell their total. Paras and Shubhamkaran got two wickets each for 30 and 38 runs, respectively.
Chasing a big total, DAVSSS Academy were bundled out for 169 in 32 rovers. Arvind played a defiant knock of 60. Manik (3 for 22) and Harpreet (2 for 18) wrecked their innings with accurate bowling.
