North Zone Badminton in September

CHANDIGARH, JUNE 20
The Chandigarh Badminton Association is conducting the North Zone Badminton Championships in the third week of September. As many as 150 players from Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, J&K and Chandigarh will be participating in the competition. Talented and top ranking juniors and seniors from Chandigarh will undergo training camp. The Chandigarh Badminton Association will provide imported Yonex shuttles and prominent national coaches will impart training, according to association president M. C. Sethi.
Sethi said that the Chandigarh State Championships will be conducted for all age groups in the last week of August. On the basis of performance in the State championships probable players will be selected for North Zone, Sub-Junior Nationals, Junior Nationals and Senior Nationals Championships.
Sethi announced that any player of Chandigarh winning top two positions inthe National Championships will be given handsome cash award. The association is determined to improve the standard of the game in Chandigarh by giving facilities and different practice and official matches in the current year.
