Indian athletes finish fourth in Singapore

SINGAPORE, JULY 4

India bagged two more dold on the final day of athletics competition in the Ist Asian Youth Games. India finished fourth in the medal tally with four gold, two silver and two bronze medals. India had fielded a 12-member athletic team.
After running an impressive race, Rajputana Rifle's runner Ravi Kumar was thrilled as he won the gold with a timing of 1:55.91s followed by Amir of Iran 1:55.93 and Herath E of Srilanka 1:56.33s. Ravi Kumar of class 11th is training under the coach Jaipal Singh at Army Boys Sports Company of Rajputana Rifle and SAI joint venture.
In the girls’ category of the same event, Namita Kabat had enought time to clinch Gold with a timing of 2:15.55s ahead of Vietnam's CA Thin Than (2:20.43s) and Myint Swe Li (MYA) (2:22.14s).
"I was sure to win Gold in the event and I did it, Now I can sleep well". said Namita after winning Gold medal.
