Winner of the 100 metres for men yesterday, Mohd. Abdul Nazeeb Qureshi showed his supremacy when he won gold of 200 metres with a timing of 21.74s followed by Arunjith (21.74s) and Amiya Kumar Mallick (21.90s) in the National Sprints Meet in Patiala on Saturday.
While women 100 metres gold winner Nidhi K. Singh had to remain content with a silver with a timing of 25.82s ahead of Alka Rani of Uttar Pradesh timed 25.89s in the 200 metres. Punjab's Navpreet Kaur brought cheers to the home team as she clinched gold with a timing of 25.49s.
Manish of Haryana won two gold medals when he secured first positions in 200m event of Boys - 20 with a timing of 22.49s. Manish had yesterday claimed gold in 100m.
Siddhant of Maharashtra (22.78s) and Ashwani of Delhi (22.93s) took silver and bronze, respectively.
All-time favourite Dharambir of Haryana clocked 48.79s to finish first ahead of Arun Singh of UP (49.54) and Rahul Singh of Delhi (50.02s) in Boys Under 20 years in 400m event.
Mandeep Kaur was the star performer on Saturday. Mandeep set her season best when she clocked 53.92s ahead of Manjeet Kaur timed 54.63s and Sawarsati Chand of Orissa (56.52s) in the women 400 metres.
The quartet comfortably won gold in the 4x100 meters relay for men leaving Punjab and Rajasthan to share silver and bronze, respectfully.
Haryana clocked 44.27s while Punjab (45.26s) & Rajasthan timed 46.27s.
