Punjab Basketball League from Sept 17

CHANDIGARH, SEPT 16

The first leg of the 19th Punjab Basketball League (men and women) will start at A.S School ground in Khanna on September 17 at 3 p.m. Teams taking part in the the men section are Punjab Police Jalandhar, B.S.F Jalandhar P.S.E.B Patiala, R.C.F Kapurthala, B.M.W Patiala, and Rest of Punjab, according to Punjab Basketball Association president R S Gill. Amritsar, Jalandhar, Kapurthala, Ludhiana, and Rest of Punjab will compete in the women's matches will be played from 3 p.m to 10 p.m
The second leg of the league will be held at Gurdial Singh Bhayia Arjuna Awardee Memorial Basketball Stadium at village Gure in District Ludhiana from October 13 to 16.
The third phase of the league will be held at village Sujapur in District Ludhiana from October 29 to November 1. The third part of the league has been dedicated to the memories of Martyr Major Kuldeep Singh Hans who was killed during the 1965 Indo-Pak war.
A prize money of Rs 3 lakh will be at stake during the three league phases. A total of 45 matches in the men section and 30 in the women section likely to be played in the annual league.
