Jotpal Singh -Dalwinder Singh bag boys U-14 doubles title in AITA Super Series

CHANDIGARH, JUNE 10
Karan Salwal (Delhi) and Dhruv Agarwal (UP) defeated Delhi pair of Basil Khuma and Aayush Mintri 6-3, 6-4 in the boys under-16 doubles final of the AITA Super Series Tennis Tournament at the Harvest Tennis Academy in Jassowal (Ludhiana) today.
The third seeded Punjab duo of Jotpal Singh and Dalwinder Singh claimed the boys under-14 doubles title by defeating Anirudh Patel (Haryana) and Dushyant Agrahari (UP) 6-4, 6-1 in the final.
Top seed Kalva Bhuvna of Andhra Pradesh and second seed Rimpleep Kaur of Punjab set up a title-clash in the girls under-16 singles category. In semi-finals, Kalva ousted sixth seeded Seeulee Upadhaya of Orissa in three sets 6-1, 5-7, 6-0 and Rimpledeep accounted for third seeded Simran Kaur Sethi of Delhi in straight sets 6-3, 6-2.
Simran Kaur Sethi, however, had the consolation of entering the girls under-14 singles final. The top seed from Delhi ousted Riya Bhatia (Delhi) 6-4, 6-1 in the semi-final match. She is now pitted against Tahir Bhatia (Delhi) who upset third seed Seeulee Upadhaya (Orissa) 6-3, 6-1.
It will be an all-Delhi affair in the boys under-16 final when top seed Manish Kumar and Basil Khuma qualified for the final. Manish accounted for Sumit Nagal (Delhi) 6-2, 6-1 and second seed Basil eliminated the challenge of third seed Fatehdeep Singh of Punjab 6-2, 6-3.
In the boys under-14 singles final, Prabhu Vignesh will face second seed Sahil Deshmukh of Maharashtra.

Girls under-16 doubles (semi-finals): Simran Kaur Sethi (Delhi) and Venugopal Shruti (Kar) bt 1-Kalva Bhuvna (SP) and Parminder Kaur (Chd) 6-2, 6-4, 2-Riya Bhatia (Delhi) and Rajbir Kaur (Punjab) w/o Devanshi Bhimjiyani (Mah) and Roma Chandiran (TN).
Boys Under-16 singles (semi-finals): Manish Kumar (Delhi) bt Sumit Nagal (Delhi) 6-2, 6-1, 2-Basil Khuma (Delhi) bt 3-Fatehdeep Singh (Punjab) 6-2, 6-3.
