Delhi Audit to cross swords with AG UP in final

CHANDIGARH, AUG 29
Delhi Audit and AG Uttar Pradesh will cross swords for the team trophy in the North Zone Indian Audit and Accounts Department Badminton Tournament at the Sector 42 Badminton Hall here today.
In the  first semi-final Delhi Audit beat AG Punjab by 3-2. Ashish of AG Punjab beat Sunil of Delhi Audit by 21-3 , 21-6. In second singles match Luv Kumar of AG Punjab fought well but lost to Nitin of Delhi Audit  (23-21, 8-21, 10-21). In the doubles match Amit & Ashish of AG Punjab easily beat Rajiv & Apinder of Delhi Audit (21-10, 21-10) and took lead by 2-1. But Delhi Audit fought back from this stage when in another singles match Vijay of Delhi Audit beat Amit of AG Punjab and levelled the score (2-2). In the last doubles match Vijay and Sunil of Delhi Audit beat Luv and Rajiv of AG Punjab by 21-17, 21-9 and reached in the team events final.
In the second semi-final  AG UP beat Anurag of AG HP by 21-10, 21-10 and in another one sided affair Deepak of AG UP beat S N Sharma of AG HP by 21-2, 21-2 . In the doubles match Sahil & Deepak of AG UP beat Vijay & Manoj of AG HP by 21-4,21-5.
AG HP beat AG Haryana by 3-0 in the opening match.  In the singles match Vijay of AG HP beat Parveen of AG Haryana 21-7 & 21-6.  In the second singles match Manoj of AG HP beat Raman of AG Haryana 21-10 & 21-5.  In the doubles match Manoj and Vijay of AG HP beat Raman and Parveen of AG Haryana by 21-8, 21-12.
Earlier  Wing Cdr.(Retd.)  Satish Bhatia inaugurated the three-day tourney.
