Diksha and Asav claim gold medals

Diksha Gupta and Asav Kumar won gold medals in girls and boys under-8 respectively in the 25 metres freestyle event  on the opening day of the Chandigarh Sports Department organized State level Swimming Championship at the Sector 23 Yoga Centre Swimming Pool here today. Diksha clocked 27.51 seconds while Asav timed 17.16 seconds.

Amandeep Singh covered the 100 metres freestyle for boys under-14 to claim the top spot in 1:03.21. Maninder Singh bagged silver in 1:12.24. Shubnakarman Kaur claimed the top honours in the girls under-14 by clocking 1:08.69 in 100 metres freestyle event.  Sahibpreet Kaur timed 1:16.27 for silver medal.

Results: Girls Under-8: 25 m freestyle:  1 Diksha Gupta 27.51, 2 Vanshika Gupta 30.63, 3 Kudrat Takhar 31.61. Boys u-8:  25 m freestyle: 1  Asav Kumar 17.16, 2 Gurwaris 22.34, 3 Manan22.43.

Boys Under-10: 100m freestyle:  1 Subham Ardia1:28.23, 2 Ayush 1:53.24, 3 Ritik Lall 2:08. Girls Under-10:  100m freestyle:  1 Jasmeet Kaur 1:40, 2 Khusnoor Kaur 1:51, 3 Soumya 1:55.

Boys Under-12:  100m freestyle:  1 Kunwar Saini 1:18.13, 2 Roshan Chirag 1:18.46, 3 Ranjot Singh 1:23.81. Girls U-12: 100 m freestyle:  1 Manimehtab Kaur 1:17.22, 2 Prachi 1:20.43, 3 Prableen Bhathal 1:38.08.

U-14 Boys: 100 m freestyle:  1 Amandep Singh 1:03.21, 2 Maninder Singh 1:12.24, 3 Suhil Ravesh 1:15.91. Girls U-14: 100 m freestyle:  1 Shubnakarman Kaur 1:08.69, 2 Sahibpreet Kaur 1:16.27, 3 Somya Gupta 1:25.42.
