CHANDIGARH, AUG 13
The Chandigarh Chapter of the Indian Revenue (Customs and Central Excise) Services Ladies Association (IRSLA) will organize a cultural evening showcasing different facets of India's culture and social milieu at Law Bhawan in Sector 37 here tomorrow.
Chief guest Mrs Gita Sridhar, IRSLA's apex body chairperson will release a souvenir to marke the occasion. The function will also be graced by former presidents and officials of IRSLA, Chandigarh who have worked tirelessly since 1991 to spread the message of service is strength.
IRSLA is a non-profit welfare organisation involved in generating social and health awareness not only amongst the staff and families of the Customs and Central Excise organization but also amongst the residents of the tri-city. Its strength is a consensus based and participatory culture which has been further enhanced under the energetic leadership of its president Dr Devi Sirohi.
The culture event being held on the eve of India's Independence Day centres on the theme of unity in diversity and advocates integrity and probity in public life. These messages are being delivered through dance and drama performed by children of staff members of group A,B, C and D. The cultural feast with traditional dances from all parts of India is evidence of the sense of involvement of the entire family of Customs and Excise, Chandigarh, in promoting national unity and integrity.
IRSLA's commitment to generating awareness for social and environmental issues as well as working for the welfare of society has been portrayed through a documentary which will be the highlight of the evening.
