PGTI makes debut in Phillaur

PHILLAUR (PUNJAB) August 29
  The PGTI Feeder Tour will stage its fifth tournament of the 2010 season at the Ranjitgarh Golf Club in Phillaur from August 30 – September 1, 2010. This tournament boasts a total prize purse of Rs. 5 lakh and marks PGTI’s debut in Phillaur. The Feeder Tour is set to stage seven tournaments in the 2010 season with the Phillaur event being the fifth leg. The tournament will be played over three rounds of 18 holes each. The top 60 Order of Merit players on the PGTI do not qualify to play in this event.
Karnal’s Maniram Sharma, who won the second leg of the Feeder Tour, along with Manoj Kumar of Lucknow are some of the prominent names in the field. While Manoj is fourth on the Feeder Tour Order of Merit with earnings of Rs. 91,458, Maniram is placed fifth at Rs. 79,846. Shaurya Singh of Delhi, the winner of the fourth leg of the Feeder Tour, leads the Order of Merit with earnings of Rs. 143,288.
