Shivalik Public School, AKSIPS start with a bang

Defending champions Shivalik Public School started their campaign on  a whirlwind fashion by blanking St Mary Convent School, Kasauli by 2-0 in a first round match of the boys CBSE North Zone Group I under-19 Badminton team championship at the Shivalik Public School gymnasium in Mohali here today.
In the opening singles match Rupinder Singth outplayed Nakul Rati to give SPS 1-0 lead while Kawaldeep wrapped up the match by beating Shubham 21-2, 21-14.
 In the boys under-16 first-round encounter, Ajit Karam Singh International Public School-41 blanked Air Force BRD by 2-0. Vaibhav beat Ayush 21-17, 210- while Akash outplayed Abhishek 21-3, 21-3 to steer the team into the next round.
Earlier, Haryana Chief Election Commissioner Dharam Vir inaugurated the championship and also took the salute. He was received by Shivalik Public School Principal-Director DS Bedi and his staff.
